The experience of being rescued en route to his home mooring after engine failure has led the owner to give up sailing. This is a pity because this Westerly Pentland looks in good condition to me and was antifouled with new anode in June 2025. The rigging was done in 2017, the upholstery is clean (though worn in the fore cabin), but this seems, overall, to be a well-cared for boat. Very smart looking Monterey 262, these are solidly built boats and the owner confirmed this when seeing the hole cut out for the new bow thruster the piece was nearly an inch thick (see photo).
